TypeSuburbDetailsBeecroft was named after the wives of the Hon. Henry Copeland, Minister for Lands, 1886. It was the maiden name of two sisters, Hannah and Mary, each of whom became his wife. The railway was put through in 1886. A book published in 1995, Beecroft and Cheltenham, the shaping of a community to 1914 gives a thorough account of Beecroft.
