As well as local history, the Farrars were a driving force behind senior citizens' clubs.

The Historical Society was formed on Sunday, September 25, 1966, at the home of Ralph and Catherine Farrar. There had been widespread concern about the disappearance of historic landmarks, such as the Woolwash at Sherbrook Rd, with the rapid onset of development.Physical FormatHornsby
