The family lived on site and the shop was a favourite with locals due to their delicious sponge cakes, meringues, honey rolls and strawberry and cream cornets, all of which were baked on the premises.
This photo was taken in 1957 before the building was demolished and the site re-developed into two shops with offices above. It was then called 'Boomerang House'.
