PhotographerRobert GreenDescriptionThe Browsery Cottage, built in C. 1902, by the Hornsby Stationmaster, is a Federation Queen Anne cottage that was used for the first meetings of the Hornsby Shire Council from April 1907 until the Council Chambers building was constructed in 1915.
The cottage contains a small front verandah, a Marseilles tile roof with terracotta ridge capping, a prominent flying gable, decorated with pebble dash and half timbered effect. The timber posted verandah is edged in slate and original timberwork. The tall chimneys are topped with terracotta chimney pots.
