In 1946 some local residents planned to establish a Baptist Church in the suburb. In 1951 land was donated by Mr Wheelhouse, a local property owner and poultry farmer for a church however it was not until 1952 that a church building was constructed. Between 1952 and 1962 the congregation was led by student Pastors until 11th August 1963 when the church became officially established and accepted into the Baptist Union of NSW.
