DescriptionThe Our Lady of Mercy Home was established in 1928 and was formerly known as the Waitara Foundling Home from 1898 to 1927.
The Sisters of Mercy cared for children in the home from birth to 15 years of age and also provided accommodation for unmarried mothers.
