DetailsDuring World War I Hornsby Post Office was an important centre for information as family and relatives waited on news of their servicemen.
The War Chest clock that was positioned in front of the Post Office recorded donations received. War Chest events were held from 1916 to 1918.
The Hornsby Honour Roll is pictured in the bottom left hand corner of the photograph. Names were recorded in gold letters and it was encased in glass. The materials used in its construction cost £20. The design and construction were the work of a well known patriotic citizen who gave his services free of charge.Date taken1st January 1918Geotag[1] KeywordsHornsby Post OfficePacific HighwayCoronation StreetPeats Ferry Road
