The work of the Salvation Army had a visible presence in the district from the early 1890s.
On 20 August 1921, a modest building was constructed on the corner of Hunter and Burdett Streets and was opened by Commissioner James Hay.
On 27 November 1965, a new Salvation Army Citadel was dedicated on the same site and later another new building was opened on the site at 29-31 Burdett Street in March 1989.Physical FormatHornsbyDimensionsRobert Green Collection
