The Railway Hotel was the first commercial building in Hornsby. It was built in 1886 and opened in 1888 at the corner of Burdett (now Coronation) Street and Colah (now Station) Street. Martin Haydon was the first Licensee. This photograph shows the hotel when Herbert Trimnell-Ritchards was the publican (from 1909). His name is painted on the left side on the building.
