PhotographerRobert GreenDescriptionThis is a close up of one of the two lion statues in Hornsby Ku-Ring-gai hospital.
The two lion statues 'guarded' the former British Centre that was erected in Hyde Park, Sydney during the Second World War. After the War, the Centre was carefully dismantled, transported to Hornsby and eventually re-assembled on the hospital site.
The lions originally were placed at the entrance of the Maternity Ward that was opened in 1956 and were later relocated when the old building was demolished.Physical FormatHornsbyDimensionsRobert Green Collection
