Hornsby's Unsolved Murder from 1922

DetailsOn the evening of Friday 7th July 1922 the Manager of the Hornsby Branch of the Government Savings Bank was murdered on his way home to Wahroonga from work, on board a south bound train from Hornsby.
Despite extensive investigations by police, the murder was never solved.
The newspaper articles contained in this document cover the story as well as the two day Coronial Inquest by Mr. Jamieson who returned a finding that Mr. Kemmis had been maliciously slain by a person unknown.
At the time this crime occurred it was headlines news in Sydney papers and was also extensively covered in country areas.
25 years after the murder on 20th February 1949, The Sunday Herald published an article about the crime and this story can be found on the last two pages of this document.
