Fire in Burdett (now Coronation) Street, 1911

DetailsOn the evening of 10th March 1911, just after 10:00 p.m. a fire broke out in a grocery store on the western side of Burdett Street (later renamed Coronation Street) Hornsby.
At that time Hornsby did not have a fire brigade and it was left to the townsfolk to do what they could to stop the fire spreading beyond the three buildings that were well alight next to the Railway Hotel.
