BiographyHenley Bembrick enlisted on 28 June 1916 and he was killed in action, going over the top, by enemy shell fire. He was not attached to the machine gunners on the day he died.
His parents received a report of his death from one of his "chums" but initially didn't believe them and wrote to the War Office and the Red Cross to follow up on his missing report, hoping that he could be located alive.
