BiographyErnest Jefferys enlisted in the Army on 17 August 1914.
He was wounded at Lone Pine & Bullecourt, France, promoted to Sergeant and transferred to Australian Flying Corps.
Cadet Jefferys is listed as having died in an aeroplane accident while training to become a Flying Officer Pilot. He died of extensive injuries.
He collided with another aircraft. On the same day 2 other Australians died at Leighterton, Lieutenant Charles Scott and 2nd Lieutenant Roy Cummings.
