PhotographerRalph HawkinsDescriptionGrave of Andrew Beattie (junior) of Hornsby, Presbyterian Section, Macquarie Park Cemetery, North Ryde. Andrew was the eldest son of Andrew and Elizabeth Beattie. He was born in Hartley, NSW in 1871, lived most of his life in Hornsby and died in Katoomba in 1930.
Andrew Beattie (senior) was born in 1839 in Scotland. He was a carpenter who emigrated to Brisbane in 1865.
In the 1880's the family moved to Mullet Creek on the Hawkesbury River and he worked on the building of the first Hawkesbury River Railway Bridge.
