StreetBoldrewood PlaceSuburbCherrybrookDetailsDuring World War One, Dame Alice Chisholm (1856-1954) established a canteen in Eygpt to provide food and comforts for the troops. She later helped establish the Goulburn Returned Soldiers Club, was appointed OBE in 1918, and 1920 was the second Australian to have the honour of DBE conferred on her. She lived in retirement in a house called "Boldrewood" which still stands today. It is believed the house was named after the famous author Rolf Boldrewood (real name Thomas Browne) who wrote Robbery Under Arms.
