StreetMills AvenueSuburbAsquithDetailsMills Avenue was named after William (Billy) Mills who served as a Hornsby Shire Councillor from 1941-1950 and from 1960-1962. He was a Fruit Inspector with the Department of Agriculture for the Hornsby District, visiting orchards in the area to check if fruit fly was being controlled.
He worked for the youth of the district and was the foundation member and President of the Asquith Boys' Club. Billy Mills died suddenly on April 3 1962, the day after attending a Monday evening Hornsby Shire Council Committee Meeting.
