StreetRotherwood AvenueSuburbAsquithDetailsRotherwood Avenue is named after a house "Rotherwood", that was built on land owned by Thomas Duffy. This house was bought by a medically retired schoolteacher, Arthur Paddison, in 1914, and occupied by his daughter, Edith until her death in 1971. Paddison continued to develop the 17½ acre orchard property on which he cultivated sweet oranges, Sevilles and thorny mandarins.
In 1950 the property was subdivided into 37 building blocks, Rotherwood and Wall Avenues, and Asquith Park.
