StreetBurns RoadSuburbBeecroftDetailsBurns Road was first used in 1886. It extended north and south of Copeland Street. In 1906 the northern portion was known as Burns Street and the southern portion as Burns Road. The road was probably named after John Fitzgerald Burns, MLA and colonial treasurer from 1885-86 and 1887-89. It appears to be coincidental that Bryne's Dairy was established in the area in about 1893.
