StreetChapman AvenueSuburbBeecroftDetailsChapman Ave was originally Malton Street, and was renamed after the Chapman family, Beecroft. Clr. Frank Chapman, sixth President of Hornsby Council, who held office both before the declaration of the residential districts in 1921, and again in 1928, during the formulation of the submissions to the New South Wales Lands Department, was a Beecroft surveyor. Francis and Alice Chapman lived in this area in their home called "The Grange". Mr. Chapman was a merchant.
