StreetGarrett RoadSuburbBeecroftDetailsThere are two possible origins for this street name. Trevor Patrick suggests that Garrett Road was named for John Harcourt Blofeld Garret and his wife Kathleen Estelle Garrett who lived in the area in 1917. The Beecroft Cheltenham History Group suggest that Garrett Road was in use by 1886 and was named in honour of Thomas Garrett, three times Minister for Lands. The first theory is less likely as the dates don't match, Garrett Road was in use well before 1917.
