StreetMidson RoadSuburbBeecroftDetailsEdward Midson was born in Essex, England in 1823. In 1855 he migrated to New South Wales, and planted an orchard in Rydalmere. When the Devlin Estate was subdivided in 1883, he bought about 90 acres, from Chesterfield to Carlingford Roads and Midson Road to Kent Street. He built the stone cottage which is now in a block facing Melrose Street. He died 14 November 1887, aged sixty-four. He was buried in St Anne's churchyard, Ryde.
