StreetPennant ParadeSuburbCarlingfordDetailsPennant Parade was an early Government Road. This line of road was the eastern boundary of John Macarthur's network of farms until 1821 when he gave them up in exchange for a vast land grant at Camden. It is one of the oldest and first named streets in the district. It was initially used to convey timber down to the wharf at Ermington. It was 100ft wide to allow bullock wagons to turn around.
After the tall timbers had been taken, almost the whole of the land on each side of the road was cleared for orchards. After the orchards came dairy and poultry farms and finally subdivided into residential.
