DescriptionHenry Cary Dangar was a pastoralist and member of parliament for West Sydney then East Sydney.
He purchased Dangar Island 1864, then called Mullet Island,and built a fine home. The current name appears on an 1872 Admiralty chart but the island was not officially renamed until 1922.
