StreetMurray RoadSuburbCheltenhamDetailsAndrew Murray, emigrated to Australia in 1817. He became overseer of the Government Gardens at Parramatta. He received a land grant in 1823 of 230 acres which is now bisected by Murray Farm Road. He resigned from his job of overseer in 1838 and lived on his farm. In 1855 he purchased a further 155 acres and died in 1858. The original farmhouse was located on the corner of Pennant Hills Road and Mahers Road. SourcePatrick,Trevor G.
