TypeOtherDetailsOaky Point is on the eastern shore of Berowra Creek due north Collingridge Point where the creek makes a 90 degree turn to the east when travelling downstream. Various maps give at least three locations for this name. It is shown as the southern entrance to Joe Crafts Bay. The 1929 Parish Map of Berowra shows it as the southern entrance to Deep Bay (now Cunio Point). The name refers to the Casuarinas (she-oaks) which were, and still are, abundant along the creek. In the 19th century these were used for shingles, fence rails and fuel. CreatorPowell, John P. 1994, Placenames of the Greater Hawkesbury Region, Hawkesbury River Enterprises, Berowra, pp.86-87
