Recollections
Add21st Nov 2018 3:26PMThe Vauxhall parked facing south belonged to Joe Craggs a returned WW2 serviceman and Carpenter of Hornsby who ran his own business in the Hornsby district. His associate was Ray Hayward whose vehicle is the red van parked facing northwards. Joe and Ray were working at the Cabaret on the corner of Pacific Hwy and Berowra Waters Road putting up the rooftop sign of a DA beer bottle. Joe cut out the shape of the bottle in timber and Ray who was a Signwriter completed the sign with his artist flair. Five year old me is in the front seat of the Vauxhall with my Mummy, waiting for Daddy.
