DescriptionSarah Mathew (1805 - 1890) diarist and wife of Assistant Surveyor Felton Mathew arrived in Sydney 1829 and moved to Windsor. Felton was employed in surveying along the Hawkesbury River in the early 1830s and was often accompanied by his wife who recorded her impressions in her diary. The diary was published by Olive Havard in the Journal of the Royal Australian Historical Society in 1943.
