BiographyGodfrey Buckland was born in Queensland, Australia and before travelling to enlist in the British Army he worked as a Stockman at the Cardigan Station in Queensland which was owned by his father.
His death notice was published in the Sydney Morning Herald on 16 August 1915.
The 1st King Edward's Horse formed part of the Household Cavalry And Cavalry Of The Line.
On 17 December 1927 a new Church of England Home at Carlingford was opened, it was a gift of Sir Thomas Buckland in memory of his son and housed 40 boys. It was titled "The Buckland Memorial Home"
