DetailsIsrael Rose was born in 1801 in Somerset, UK. He lived and worked the hard life of a coal miner. However, in 1825 he was transported to Australia for life for highway robbery. He received his Conditional Pardon in 1847 and sought to make a future in areas along the Hawkesbury River. He married Elizabeth, the eldest daughter of Ferdinand and Sarah Lewis, had ten children and settled at Marra Marra Creek.
