TypeOtherDetailsIsrael Rose was born in 1801 in Somerset, UK. He lived and worked the hard life of a coal miner. However, in 1825 he was transported to Australia for life for highway robbery. He received his Conditional Pardon in 1847 and sought to make a future in areas along the Hawkesbury River. He married Elizabeth, the eldest daughter of Ferdinand and Sarah Lewis, had ten children and settled at Marra Marra Creek. Over the next years of his life he made a living as a timbergetter, a fisherman and a lime burner.
