BiographyFrancis Kane enlisted on the 9 September 1914, the same day as his brother Lord Alfred Kane and served together until Francis was wounded. He was evacuated to the hospital ship Sicilia and died on the ship from a penetrating gun shot wound to his abdomen and was buried at sea.
Their father, Doctor Francis Kane, of Kiama, N.S.W. had enlisted the day before.
