Identifiernot specifiedPhotographernot specifiedDescriptionSome visitors to Berowra, even those who were camping, preferred to have a meal catered for them, and they were not without choices in the area. Some of the guest houses made arrangements with tour companies to provide luncheon, often focussing around local seafood, particularly oysters, while The Kiosk above the Ferry ramp provided light refreshments, drinks and a few holiday souvenirs. Both the Huett and Jones boatsheds provided light refreshments for visitors to Berowra, including cool drinks, which would be welcome after a day on the water. Hot water was available from several of the guest houses and the Nursery ‘Eureka’, allowing people to make tea. Later, when Peats Ferry Road was upgraded for the increasing automobile traffic, the Road House was built on the Pacific Highway and provided morning and afternoon teas, drinks and even Peters Ice Cream and lollies.
