Identifiernot specifiedPhotographernot specifiedDescriptionMany visitors to Berowra enjoyed bathing in the clear, clean waters of the creeks. For those who were camping this was part of their daily ablutions, but even those visiting just for a day often enjoyed a dip in the cool, clear waters. There were dangers to this though. Berowra and Cowan Creeks are salt water creeks which are occasionally visited by sharks. There were also sometimes submerged dangers which could snag an unsuspecting swimmer. A swimming enclosure was built at Berowra Creek in 1937 as a commemoration to Rex Jones, a local man who tragically drowned in the river. Despite the enclosure many continued to swim outside those boundaries.Physical FormatBerowra WatersDimensionsBerowra Living History Group
