BiographyWhen Ronald Macdonald joined the army he had the rank of Private with a service number of 462. He enlisted on 25 August 1914.
He was promoted to Corporal on 2 September 1915 and transferred to Brigade HQ and then appointed to the rank of Lieutenant on 14 November 1915.
While serving at Gallipoli, 28 May 1915, he was wounded in action.
He was killed in action at Hill 40 in the Suez Canal region.
