DescriptionThe fine Federation home of the Stenteford family in Bridge Road, Hornsby. The home looked over the Harrington property in Hornsby Valley.
Ernest Howard Stenteford (1877-1949) was the son of Ephraim Hooke Stenteford (1839-1910), a well known Hornsby builder from the late 1800s. Ernest married local girl, Ethel Dreis in 1909 and they went on to have four children, Hazel, Hilda, Milton and Ronald. This photo is thought to be of Ethel with Hazel, Hilda and baby Milton, in the front yard of their home 'Piccadilly'Bridge Road.
The Stenteford males were heavily involved in the Hornsby Rifle Club.
