DescriptionMembers of the Hornsby Gang camping out in Old Mans Valley.

According to local historian, Ralph Hawkins, Aub Ponton who had been a member of the 'Hornsby Gang' - he might be the person in the back row first on the left. Another member of the gang was 'Bambi' Provest. The boys used to camp in Hornsby Valley and go swimming in the Fish Ponds in Berowra Creek. Judging from the reeds in the foreground I'd suggest they are camping close to the creek.DimensionsSomerville Collection
