Identifiernot specifiedPhotographernot specifiedDescriptionThe Cabaret was built on the Pacific Highway in the early 1930s after Berowra lost its only community hall in a fire in 1929.
It is fondly remembered for its beautiful Jarrah dance floor. In the days before Rock and Roll and named bands, the young people from the district and beyond flocked there. Dressed to the nines, they would dance cheek to cheek to the Foxtrot, the Barn Dance and the Canadian Three Step.
During the day, as a roadhouse, it was a popular stopping place for the tourist buses. Meals and teas were served as part of a day around the Hawkesbury.Physical FormatBerowraDimensionsBerowra Living History
