Recollections
Add1st May 2026 3:35PMI used to love spending time hanging over the fence looking at this beautiful garden on my way to (Pennant Hills High) school in the 1960's. I lived in Station Street Thornleigh and very often walked from there to school. I think I was always interested in gardening and gardens and I discovered an "honesty plant" growing up against the fence. I had never seen one of these before and I broke off the head of one stem which was sticking through the wire fence to get a seed. I don't believe I ever managed to get it to grow though. I was in the first intake of students at the high school and planted a tree there on 'tree planting day' at the left hand side of the driveway entrance into the school. I believe it is still there and is a very large tree now.
