When he died in 1911 all his properties were transferred to his wife Rosa. She sold the house to John McLean, a draftsman from Croydon, in 1913.Today, the property is part of the Inala School.

Original main building is a good example of a large, early Federation style house. Elegant design with distinctive tall chimneys and pair of gablets. Integrity undermined by some unsympathetic modifications.
The building which fronts Castle Hill Road has a complex hipped roof with two gables to the main facade. Tall rendered chimneys with decorative pots. Roof continues over verandah which returns to side. Rendered masonry walls. Castellations to service wing at side.

Inala, meaning place of peace, was established in 1958 as a school for children with intellectual disabilities by medical practitioner and anthroposophist Dr Joachim Pohl and his wife Kyra Pohl, a Steiner-trained teacher of children with special needs.

The Pohls were supported by a group of families who were seeking education and accommodation support for their children with special needs. They set up a beautiful environment in an elegant old home 'Yurunga' in Cherrybrook with an educational and therapeutic program designed to help the children develop in mind, body and soul.
