Rich in original detail, including stucco, slate and stained glass. Little altered, apart from painting of brickwork. Original interior. Social and historical significance as a centre of worship for the area.
The foundation stone of the building is dated 1888. The building was designed by G McKinnon. It was dedicated on 26 January, 1888.

The heritage listed church hall was constructed c1845. This was the original church. One of the earliest Methodist (Wesleyan) chapels in New South Wales. Symbol of early British settlement in rural area, but also serving the needs of travellers along the Great North Road. Inscribed stone over door of the hall reads "Wesleyan Chapel 1845". Extension was built of stone from the house of Thomas Thompson (after whose family Thompson corner is named). It is a rare example of a sandstone church hall, dating from the early Victorian period. Reputedly the oldest building in Pennant Hills area. Attractive but simple design. Social and historical significance for its role in community life.

The heritage listed cemetery at West and North has grave markers from 1846 to the 1970s.Physical FormatCherrybrook
