DetailsThe Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (SOCOG) recruited a “Games Force” of more than 40,000 volunteers to help with the Olympic Games. Those volunteers were credited with much of the success of the games and each of whom have had their names subsequently preserved on volunteer poles in Sydney's Olympic Stadium. Many of these fabulous volunteers, dressed in their memorable uniforms, were from the Hornsby Shire.
