DetailsVincent William Seymour, began farming in the area that would later be named Brooklyn. Vincent (known as William/Bill) married Sarah Rebecca Hibbs in 1862 and the couple settled on forty acres now known as ‘The Old Dairy’. A creek still running through the property carries his name, as ‘Seymour’s Creek’. For many years, the stretch of road that passed over the Seymour’s Creek mudflat was known as ‘Seymour’s Crossing’. Where Seymour’s dairy farm was located would later be the site of the Shire’s most recently constructed sports field.
