StreetFox Valley RoadSuburbWahroongaDetailsOnce part of the Fox Ground Estate, the dispute continues whether Fox Valley Road gets its name from the four-legged animal or flying foxes attracted by the many orchards in the area.

Although initially Fox Valley Road was just a track, it was a major early access route for timber-getters and orchardists. Later this route was regarded as a branch street from the main road formed by the unemployed, at the insistence of Mr Jim Nobbs MLA member for the district. The road reduced the distance between Thornleigh and Turramurra by about three miles and passed through a picturesque gully. The headwaters of the Lane Cove River are in the gully and the river contains falls, caves and flora well worthy of inspection by tourists.Source'Wahroonga - Our Home' (1991), p.157.
