She was the daughter of Arthur and Annie Wray. She spent her childhood living in 'Derry' Sutherland Road, Beecroft and attended Miss Long's school in Beecroft. She was active in local theatrical, dramatic and elocutionary productions. Later in life Elinor became a leader in the field of Speech Pathology. She passed away in 1992 at the age of 93.
