The Fishponds Reserve is a beautiful natural bushland area in the valley below Westleigh, Hornsby, Hornsby Heights and Dural, that is full of significant flora and fauna. Today it is part of the Berowra Valley National Park.
The Reserve has a large freshwater creek flowing through its centre that is very wide and deep in several places. This creek is part of Berowra Creek but is often referred to as Fishponds Creek in the area where the once popular Fishponds swimming waterholes are located.
