DetailsThe centenary of the rail service between Strathfield and Hornsby was celebrated with the arrival of a steam train at Hornsby Station. Large crowds attended to see the train at both Hornsby and Hawkesbury River Stations where it travelled with its passengers. A plaque was unveiled to mark the occasion with representatives from the State Rail Authority, Harry Edwards, MP for Berowra, Neil Pickard, MLA for Hornsby and former Hornsby Shire President, Ron Payne attending, just to name a few.
