Silverwater Reach and the Berowra Waters Ferry c.1930s

It has a 'Printed by Harringtons' stamp on the back of the original photograph. Harringtons was a household name throughout Australia during that period. The company was taken over by Kodak Australasia in the mid 1930s.

32 waterfront allotments along Berowra Creek known as Silverwater Estate were sold at auction in April 1926. Today the area is known as Silverwater Reach. Houses on Lots 29 & 28 can be seen in the photograph.

Hornsby Council received this image from Goulburn Mulwaree Library in 2025. The image is part of a donation they received.

The colour photograph shows the area in recent times.
