Identifiernot specifiedPhotographernot specifiedDescriptionWhen the Australian Commonwealth produced its first Australian currency, the Five Pound Note carried a picture of Brooklyn. Taken from the hillside above the Sanitorium Hotel (near the current Wharf Street), the view looked out over the Inlet to Kangaroo Point. This picture was used on five-pound notes from 1913 to 1932. The choice continued the high profile of the area established during the Federation Movement.
