Add15th Jun 2023 11:59AMAudrey was also born at London Road in 1901. The family left the UK in Dec 1903,William had already gone ahead, Alice followed with the 4 children. Their youngest child, Douglas was born in Dec 1913 at William Street Hornsby where we assume the family lived while waiting for the managers cottage to be built, so guess they moved in here in 1914.
This 3 bedroom cottage housed a family of ten for a number of years until various family members married or moved away in the mid 1920's. In the early 1920's WC Chilvers advertised for a cow - it would have been very handy with so many mouths to feed.
Hugh definitely didn't die on 2nd April 1989! He was at my wedding in April 1990 where one of my cricketing friends was delighted to be able to meet the man with the most grade wickets (a record he still holds in 2023). Hugh died on 1st Dec 1994 - the last of his siblings.
