The original building still stands today. Michael Majkic The Bootmaker bought the Shoe Repair business in 1952 from Jimmy Wrigley. He ran the business until 1996 when he finally retired. The Majkic family lived behind the shop until around 1985. There was a beautiful garden and a large swimming pool. There was a paddock between the building and the station with a little creek. You wouldn’t know it today! Michael Majkic sold the building in 1997.
The old Station Masters cottage was opposite where Mr & Mrs Flanagan lived. I believe it was sadly demolished in 1980. The area was beautiful back then. Just down Railway Parade was Barnes Bakery. Mr & Mrs Mathieson ran the Astra picture theatre on Pennant Hills Rd. This General Store I believe was at the time of the photo the only store between Epping & Hornsby. This photo is taken from the railway station side (western side I think) you can see the gables of the original roof are still the same.
